Sailing Examination

At first I was scared to ride alone because I didn't know what was going on.

But the more I rode, the more I realized I was improving, and it became fun.

But I wonder when it started, when it felt like my growth had stopped.

What should I aim for next?

5th grade

Those who have learned the basics of sailing and are trying it for the first time. Able to sail straight for about 100m into a crosswind, turn the bow 180° and return to the original position. Able to prepare and pack up after understanding how to transport and handle the boat and equipment. Able to control the sail and boat in a basic manner.

3rd class

Able to go anywhere upwind or downwind in medium winds. Understands the basic rules of racing and can make decisions and operate on the water. Level required to compete in the All Japan Championships

1st class

Possesses the skills and stamina to freely control the boat in strong winds. Can handle trouble at sea. Can sail with VMG in all wind conditions and has the ability to make choices to win races. Has the ability to win a top prize in the All Japan Championships.

4th grade

Able to go wherever you want in light winds, both upwind and downwind. The wind speed is approximately 3m/s. Able to understand basic sailing terminology and follow instructions. Able to coil the rope required for towing.

2nd class

You can freely control your boat in medium winds. You can select the optimal settings and sail with VMG. You can understand and execute strategies and tactics to win races.
